Kohrville Elementary Students, Teacher Honored at January Board Meeting

The Klein ISD Board of Trustees recognized an outstanding Kohrville Elementary staff member and two exceptional students at the January Board meeting for their dedication to success in the classroom.

Katrina Alexander’s 5th-grade classroom mantra is “no pressure, no diamonds,” and she stands by it. Every day, Ms. Alexander pursues student success by setting high expectations and challenging each student. As a results-driven educator, she ensures students understand that hard work pays off.

“Ms. Alexander exemplifies the role of a high-quality teacher,” Kohrville Elementary Principal Kia Bowie said. “She does an excellent job building relationships with students in an exceptional and supportive classroom environment.”

Fifth-grade student Matthew is a leader in the classroom with a positive attitude. He demonstrates remarkable skills as a student and is active in his school and community as a member of many clubs and organizations. Matthew is a member of the Fifth Grade Strings, Percussion Army, Coding Club, and Jogging Club and is on his neighborhood swim team.

“Matthew is a values-driven leader and equipped scholar with impeccable character and excellent grades,” Math and Science Teacher Mr. Chad Moore said. “He exhibits a healthy sense of self and perseverance.”

Tianah is a talented artist and an exceptional student at Kohrville. This Coyote is a proud Art Club member whose project for Hispanic Heritage Month is one of the top 8 projects among all elementary and high school students for the TAEA Youth Art Month Contest. Not only is Tianah studious and creative she is also a member of the school’s Safety Patrol, as she is always looking out for and willing to help other students.

“Tianah is optimistic, empathetic, and creative,” ELA and Social Studies Teacher Ms. Yvette Coughlin said. “She always sets high standards for herself.”

Congratulations, Ms. Alexander, Matthew, and Tianah! You all are outstanding, and we are so proud of each of you.
